I’m often asked how to choose a good wine that’s value for money from a bottle shop. I always tell them to check out the remainder bins looking for a wine that was around the $20 mark that has been reduced. These wines are often single vineyard or are from a smaller winery, which make quality wines due to a small production run than the larger commercial wineries. Not being well known wineries they often end up selling at a slower rate and then cleared at a lower price.

Many people have signed up for online or catalogue wine selectors. While the prices can be incredibly cheap, with multiple enticing email offers and deals, some of the wines are enjoyable, but you are often left disappointed or stuck with a few left in the cupboard you can’t or won’t drink.

Whitehill Wine Company wines are selected to the individual’s price and taste preferences whether red or white. We go out of our way to get customer feedback to ensure the wines chosen are value for money. This allows customers to choose a variety they like or a specific region. Or they may ask us to put together a mixed case for them to sample in their price range. We then deliver them free of charge to their door within our region.

This saves a trip to the bottle shop and saves lots of time in trying to find a good drinkable wine that is value for money!
