Fenwick is a small historic region on the Bellarine Peninsula, between Ocean Grove and Wallington, 20 km from Geelong and only 5 km from Bass Strait. Named after a pioneer settler called Fairfax Fenwick it is serendipitous only that, in 1988, Madeleine and David Fenwick purchased the 20 hectares that is now Fenwick Wines.  The influence of a maritime climate cannot be overestimated in modifying the day and night temperatures and providing light coastal showers, so important for growing premium wine grape varieties such as pinot noir, chardonnay and, more recently, shiraz.
